The Naranjo Museum of Natural History is located in Lufkin, Texas. This was the perfect halfway stop for us between home and our final destination. We got to get out and walk around to stretch our legs for a bit while seeing some amazing things. I have to first off say that this place has impeccable customer service. They answered all of our questions and we very accommodating to our needs. There were so many things to see that it really surprised me. Some of their exhibits are Strata Wall, Dig Site, Precambrian Eon, Cambrian Period, Silurian Period, Devonian Period, Ordovician Period, Permian Period, Carboniferious Period, Dunkleosteus, Jurassic Period, Triassic Period, The Gem Room, NASA, Whooly Mammoth and Smilodon, etc. I could go on because there are even more exhibits but if you check out their website you will find tons of information. LeeAnna's favorite things at the museum were, of course, the dinosaurs and the gift shop. I absolutely loved all of the exhibits and probably could have spent way more time there checking it all out. We went through it a couple of times and still probably didn't get to see everything. They also have an amazing gift shop where LeeAnna chose a cute little, stuffed dinosaur for her souvenir. We really enjoyed the experience of this place and would recommend anyone in the area stopping in and checking it out. Click the link below to check out their website and find out more information!
We just got home from an amazing 4-day vacation that we were able to take LeeAnna on. As many of you know LeeAnna has Autism and ADHD. Needless to say, we don't get to go places very often because of how trying it can be. This was actually our very first time of going on a vacation or even staying somewhere overnight. We got to visit 2 spectacular places and I will be doing a post about each of them. I have to say we were very worried about even going on this trip and scared of the thought of having LeeAnna out of her territory and routine. But she did extremely amazing and I am so glad that we took the plunge and went for it. It was a well-needed trip and all 3 of us needed the time away. I wish our older kids could have been with us but maybe in the future, we will be able to go again. Our first stop that I will be posting about is the Naranjo Museum and then we got to stay for 3 nights at Elijah's Retreat. I hope you enjoy my posts and look forward to hearing your thoughts and feel free to post about your favorite places to go in the comments.
