I was using a different dog bark collar on my moms dog, it was one that had the remote control to use when her dog would start barking. Well I had to resort to getting a collar that didn't have the remote to make the collar to work. My mom is getting up in age, she is 89 years old now and is starting to have problems with her memory. There are just some things that she can't remember how to operate. I had to run to the Pharmacy to pick up her prescription and when I returned home, she had removed her dogs bark collar. I asked her how come the collar was off and she said that she pushed every button on it and just couldn't get it to work, so she just took it off. Well I looked at the controller and instead of having it on the vibration low setting that I had it on, she had it cranked up to 100, on the shock setting. Anyway her poor dog had little shutter spells, for the rest of the evening, so I decided that wasn't the bark collar to be using for her dog. I decided to get the K9 Garnet Dog Bark Collar because it is made to work automatically when the dog barks. The collar emits a couple of audible warnings first and if her dog continues to bark then it will emit a light static shock. The K9 Garnet Dog Bark Collar has been working with her so far, I don't know maybe her experience with the last dog bark collar has taught her that she does not want to be barking, so she hasn't gotten past the audible warnings to often. So far I have only had to have it set on the lowest setting for the static shock and as long as she does well on it, then that's where I will leave it. I do remove her collar at night, because she doesn't go outside after we go to bed. Then I put the collar back on her first thing in the mornings before she starts going back outside for the day. The collar is very well made, and it works with a 4LR44 6V battery, but it does comes with an extra battery, so you will have one on hand. The collar also comes with two different sets of prongs and the battery tester. I received this product free for my honest, unbiased opinion. Click the button below to see the product.
