There are a lot of aerators out there, but most of them are not as elegant as this one . The Wine Chappie is made of thick smooth glass and part of it has an insert that has a soft rubber feel to it. When you are done using it, you wash it with warm soapy water, dry it and store it on the stand that it comes with. It is also dishwasher safe, if you prefer to wash it that way. When you aerate a wine, it causes it to go through a change, called oxidation and evaporation. Oxidation happens when the wine is exposed to Oxygen and evaporation is the process of a liquid turning into a vapor and escaping into the air. When wine is exposed to aeration it is essential in making the wine not only smell better but taste a lot better too. Does the Wine Chappie do a good job of aerating your wine, oh yeah it sure does and it great that it's so easy to use. All you have to do is hold the wine aerator over your glass and pour, It adds lots of oxygen and it seems like the right amount of oxygen. It definitely made the red wine seem to have a better taste. All wines does not benefit from aeration, most red wines do, but most white wines do not. If you try the Wine Chappie and it doesn't help your wine, maybe it's the wine. I know that I am impressed with this aerator and it works better then most aerators that I have used. I received this product free for my honest, unbiased opinion.
